    MAATLA Now Operates in All Seven Official South African Languages

    Following months of linguistic and cultural research, MAATLA's WhatsApp platform now delivers medication reminders, health education, and emergency response in Sepedi, English, Setswana, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Tshivenda, and Xitsonga. Voice note education content is rolling out across all languages, bringing health guidance to millions of South Africans in their home language. This expansion reflects our commitment to inclusive healthcare access.

  2. Community responder recruitment

    Calling All Healthcare Workers and CPR Responders for Emergency Network Launch

    MAATLA is actively recruiting pre-registered community healthcare workers, paramedics, nurses, and CPR-trained responders to form the backbone of our Emergency First Response network. As we approach launch, we are building a database of trained individuals ready to answer emergency SOS calls in their communities. If you are a registered healthcare worker or CPR instructor, register now to join this life-saving network.

    We are thrilled to announce that MAATLA has progressed from the Top 40 to the Top 15 of the MTN Digital Innovation Challenge 2026. This advancement reflects the judges' confidence in our family-centered approach to healthcare and our innovative use of WhatsApp to reach underserved communities. With over 200 enterprises competing, reaching the Top 15 validates our mission and positions us for the final rounds.
